F.A.Q

1. How do I get started?

When you sell with Wallingford GMC, you are selling to a real person for a real cash offer. Upon submitting your vehicle and contact information, We’ll will reach out shortly to confirm your information, speak about your vehicle, and schedule an in person Cash Appraisal. This is to ensure you get the best offer, the first time, with qualified eyes and a check ready to cut.

2. What do I need to do to my car before I sell it?

We take everything into consideration when evaluating your vehicle. This means up to date service, usable tires, adequate brakes and even things like Ceramic Paint & Interior protection over the life of your vehicle can greatly increase your vehicles value. To get Top of Market pricing on your car, truck, or SUV, make sure you’re up to date on any services, oil change and general fit and finish. We appreciate the love and care you give your vehicles over the years!

3. How do I find out how much my car is worth?

Automated tools, bots, and quote providers cannot take into consideration the actual fit, finish and condition of the vehicle, and by design will always give you a low estimate. While these values are on the extreme low end of the market, the only way to get you the most is with a true, 15 minute in person appraisal in person. We are a cash buyer – you wouldn’t buy a car without seeing it would you?

However, we understand our customers want a general idea of the value of their vehicle. For this, we are an official Kelley Blue Book partner, that can provide you market-accurate values of your current vehicle – but keep in mind, it’s often not the full potential of your vehicle, don’t miss out on extra cash

4. What paperwork do I need to sell my car?

  • Title
  • Valid Registration
  • Matching Drivers License

All other paperwork will be provided at the Dealership and be walked though step by step by Victoria. This includes Odometer Statements, Bill of Sale, etc. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Victoria Directly at 203-626-7565 with any questions.

7. What if I still have a loan on my car and am still making payments?

No worries! We can still buy your vehicle!

In the event that you still have an active loan on the vehicle, you’ll still need to satisfy the remaining payoff before you get paid the difference. For example, if you owe $5,000 on your vehicle, and it’s valued at $7,000 we will pay off your loan and cut you a check for the difference once we receive the title, meaning you are free and clear with extra cash in your pocket.

You’ll receive dated paperwork and confirmations once your vehicle has been paid off. In some rare cases this can take up to 30 days, but is typically done within 10-14 days. This is completely dependent on your bank or credit union. While Victoria and the Dealership does everything we can to ensure the fastest delivery of funds and payoffs, you may be able to expedite the process by speaking directly with your bank if needed. If you have any questions, Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Victoria Directly at 203-626-7565.

6. What do I need to do to cancel my car insurance?

Once you are no longer driving the vehicle, you are free to cancel your insurance. If you need proof of sale, the provided Bill of Sale should suffice.

7. How soon will I get paid?

If you have a title in hand, you can get a check cut in as little as 15 minutes. Once Victoria completes the appraisal process and a value is provided, a check for the full amount can be cut quickly from Monday-Friday before 4:00. This allows our business office to expedite the transaction and cut a check in house to be handed over. If you choose, we can also mail the check to the address on your Drivers License or Registration for free

8. How do I transfer or cancel my car registration?

CT DMV does not require you to return your plates anymore! This means you can keep your plates, get rid of them, or mount them on a wall. You can always re-register these plates in the future on an applicable vehicle. Victoria can guide you through the process through CT’s online portal. Print the cancelation document and keep for your records.
